Recent action - moves to restrict obstructive parking in Highbury and Priory, investigating a 20mph zone in gaping lane area, move to restrict heavy vehicles from Willow Lane, supporting better pedestrian access to the town centre by altering pedestrian crossing priorities, investigating improved crossing by the Wymondley Bridge, and promoting footpath resurfacing. Derrick has served Hitchin South for many years and is the only councillor in the county to have successfully pursued a village green application in saving the Pinehill Field.
