A post box

Local Councillors and Bim Afolami MP are fighting to save the Southdown post box on the corner of Piggottshill Lane and Southdown Road.

Bim said, "It was a huge pleasure to meet with many Southdown residents (and Councillor Teresa Heritage) to discuss how to get Royal Mail to reinstate our post-box in the heart of Southdown, which was recently taken away before I, or any local residents were aware.

Royal Mail have now confirmed that they are definitely going to put a new post-box back very close to the previous one. However, the job is not yet done as I have not yet had confirmation of WHEN Royal Mail will do this. I have written to the CEO of Royal Mail this morning to urge that we get our post-box back as soon as possible.

We need to get our post-box back in weeks not months. I am doing everything I can to make sure Royal Mail deliver!"
