This morning Bim met with the Chair of the Office for Road and Rail (ORR), Professor Stephen Glister. The ORR acts as the rail regulator. He is soon due to publish his final report into the reasons for the timetable disaster of this summer. Bim was reassured that the ORR was fully appraised of the particular difficulties that both Hitchin and Harpenden have faced, and urged them to be very clear and blunt about the failures to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.
