St Albans Liberal Democrats have failed to build a single new unit of social housing in their first year in charge of St Albans, despite having said that a Lib Dem Council would deliver on building local houses that people could afford "right away" just months before taking control of the Council in 2019. By contrast, the Conservative administration built 48 new homes in the final year of our administration.
Cllr Julian Daly, Conservative Shadow Portfolio Holder for Property, Commercial and Development, said, "This is the latest in a litany of failure to deliver by Lib Dem Councillors, and pre dates Covid-19. It’s the poorest residents of our District that suffer as a result. They deserve a more competent and responsible Council than this."
